Discovering the Wonders of Apulia
The Castellana Caves, also known as the Wonders of Apulia, are a fascination component of the Karst Cave System. Located in the municipality of Castellana Grotte, the Castellana Caves extend to roughly 3,400 metres in length and reach a maximum depth of 122 metres.
Discovered for the first time in 1938 by the speleologist Franco Anelli, the Castellana Caves serve as a picture frame to the wonderful scenery hidden beath the town of Castellana Grotte. You will be enchanted by the games of light and shadow which are played over the ancient stalactites and stalagmites.
