Alberobello
Discovering the town of trulli
Alberobello is called the town of trulli for good reason. The town’s typical dwellings – 1,500 houses, all of different shapes and sizes – have been declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Alberobello’s traditional trullo is a conical, dry stone building – a trademark of central and southern Apulia. Standing above them all is the trullo Sovrano, the only two-storey trullo in Alberobello. Dating in parts back to the beginning of the 17th century, Sovrano is now a museum depicting traditional trullo life.
Experience the unique tourist destination of Alberobello which has been declared an UNESCO World Heritage Site for its trulli.
